Simone Roodselaar is a contemporary abstract artist based in the Netherlands.

Her paintings form layered visual fields in which perception, expectation and inner awareness converge. Through a process of successive layers, surfaces emerge that hold tension, openness and transformation simultaneously.

The works do not represent a fixed image, but sustain a state in which insight may arise through the encounter between painting and viewer.

Roodselaar works in conceptual series exploring different states of becoming, connection and inner orientation. Her works function not only as objects, but as spatial presences that actively shape the environment in which they are placed.
